I finally found out what is Bio-technology from my teacher Prof Shari Laprise. Then I promptly forgot, pretty sure it was something like “to harness nature to advance things”. My take-away was Bio is for Nature.

So what is technology?

Well last night in my leadership and ethics class, President Rick Miller of Olin College, himself an engineer described technology as “A way of amplifying human intention”. If we were to add the two comments together you would get “Bio-technology is using nature to amplify human intentions”.

Could this mean we are all bio-technologists without even realising it? If so, when did you Bio-Tech last?
